Bull Fertility and Its Relation with Density Gradient Selected Sperm

چکیده مقاله:
Background sperm selection is generally used to describe methods for separation of spermatozoa for in-vitro-assisted reproduction. Few studies reported relation in vivo fertility and semen parameters after selection of fertile spermatozoa; hence, our research attempt to assess different semen parameters after post-thaw (PT) or after selecting sperm sample (SSp), using density gradient separation BoviPure®, to predict in vivo fertility. MaterialsAndMethods frozen semen quality of four Montbeliard bulls after post-thaw (PT) or selected sperm (SSp), using density gradient separation BoviPure®, to predict fertility in vivo. PT or SSp semen were examined for concentration, motility, morphology abnormalities, viability, acrosome and plasma membrane integrities. Fertility is measured as non return rates within 56 days after first insemination (NRR) or as corrected NRR (CNRR). Nonparametric Kruskal-Wallis test was performed to compare semen parameter variables. Fertilities were compared using Chi-square. Linear mixed model was conducted to correct NRR, expressed as CNRR, to the factors influencing fertility. Pearson correlation analysis was used to test the relationship between CNRR and semen parameters. Statistical analyses were performed using SPSS package program, version 21.0. Results most of proven bulls exhibit a high fertility (3/4 bulls, 62.1-81.8% for NRR or 67.2-98.5% for CNRR). Fertility expressed as CNRR was related to SSp parameters and not to those PT. Thus, CNRR increases with decrease of SSp total motility, progressive spermatozoa and abaxial implantation frequencies (r= - 0.999, p

متن کاملSperm DNA Fragmentation and Its Relation With Fertility
Sperm DNA integrity is vital for successful fertilization, embryo development, pregnancy, and transmission of genetic material to the offspring. DNA fragmentation is the most frequent DNA anomaly present in the male gamete that has been associated to poor semen quality, low fertilization rates, impaired embryo quality, and preim‐ plantation development and reduced clinical outcomes in assisted ...
متن کاملSperm Characteristics in Cryopreserved Buffalo Bull Semen and Field Fertility
Semen quality and its relationship to fertility are major concern in animal production. The aim of this study was to assess the relationship between frozen thawed sperm characteristics and fertility following in vivo fertility through Artificial Insemination(AI). Semen samples were collected from four buffalo bulls. Semen volume and sperm concentration appeared to be significantly different (P0...
متن کاملInterrelationships Between Apoptosis and Fertility in Bull Sperm
Male fertility, the ability of sperm to fertilize and activate the egg and support early embryogenesis, is vital for mammalian reproduction. Despite producing adequate numbers of sperm with normal motility and morphology, some males suffer from low fertility whose molecular mechanisms are not known. The objective was to determine apoptosis in sperm from high and low fertility bulls and its rela...
متن کاملComparison of Sperm Telomere Length between Two Sperm Selection Procedures: Density Gradient Centrifugation and Zeta Potential
Background: Telomeres are particular sequences of DNA located at the end of the eukaryotic chromosomes that are essential for genome integrity. Telomere length in spermatozoa differs among males, as well as spermatozoa. Also, decreased telomere length in spermatozoa of infertile men is associated with the reduction of fertility potential and embryo quality. Density gradient centrifugation (DGC)...
